Our Free Trip to California! Day 6 part 1

I’ve been having a blast walking down a recent memory lane to the free trip my husband and I earned to the Shaklee New Director’s Conference in Pleasanton, CA! If you missed it, you can see the first two posts here:

Today I will share a very memorable day… this was the first full day of the conference and the day we got to walk the red carpet while everyone from Shaklee headquarters, including our awesome CEO Roger Barnett, cheered for us! It was a moment I have seen so many others do, including my parents, and to be honest, was a kind of emotional for me. They were playing a song as we stepped out of the bus, that was played at the very first global conference I attended with my mom in 2011. Every time I hear the music from that conference it brings me back to how I felt, sitting in the nose bleed seats in the huge arena at the MGM Grand hotel in Las Vegas, watching so many people cross the stage being recognized, and thinking if they can do that then so can I! Last year in Long Beach I did cross that stage and receive my Tiffany box! and just recently, stepped out of the bus onto the red carpet at Shaklee headquarters and got so many hugs and high fives from everyone there! It.was.awesome!!!!

Here are several pictures of that first day. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I wish I had a picture of David and I walking the red carpet. This is the best I could find… You can just barely see David in the grey suit walking away about midway through this picture. I am in front of him (not pictured. lol)

I took this one from the bus. Sorry it’s blurry!

I need to jump backwards for a minute to show some of my favorite memories from the night before. David and I were put at the “Tealer” Table and had the best time! Many awesome Shaklee moms with their husbands were with us. My new friend Stephanie’s husband Clayton, took a fun cameo spot as our star “rapper” for the night sharing our theme song with the crowd. He was a huge hit! And we had the best time that night.

While we were having a fun time at the welcome reception, Shaklee elves were busy distributing wonderful gifts in our rooms. We came back to two of these on the bed. Shaklee water bottles filled with Shaklee 180 energy tea and Vivix. We also received two Shaklee bags filled with Shaklee 180 bars and smoothee mix!

One of the first things we did was take our picture with Shaklee CEO Roger Barnett and the President of Shaklee, Dan Rajczak. The last night we were here Shaklee delivered two copies of this to our room as well as a copy of the group photo we took. Such terrific memories that are now in my office to look at daily. 🙂

You may know that David is a pharmacist. So I just had to have him pose by Dr. Shaklee’s mortar and Pestle. It was huge by the way. 🙂

The famous Shaklee Star that leads the way to all of the Star Achiever events at Shaklee Global Conferences.

There are Master Coordinator pictures (the highest rank in Shaklee) all around the home office. We found our great mentors, Chuck and Joyce Hoffmann’s picture and took our picture right by it. Funny how there is a blank spot right by their picture. I think our picture would look quite nice there, don’t you think? 🙂

Chuck and Joyce started their Shaklee business in 1969 and have been making a six figure salary with Shaklee since 1977! Joyce is a nurse and was very skeptical about Shaklee in the beginning, but after she saw how her son’s and her health turnaround after starting on shaklee supplements, she knew they really worked. And has been sharing Shaklee with people every since!

There are so many great awards and memorabilia around the home office. All star achievers get a Tiffany gift at Global Conference. It was fun to get my first piece last year!

I found this picture on my husband’s phone after we got home. I didn’t see this at home office. But found it extremely significant to me. You may know my Shaklee story. Or rather my mom’s Shaklee story. In the mid 70s, after she had had my two older siblings, my mom was told she needed a hysterectomy. She decided to try vitamins from other brands which did not work for her. And then her friend introduced her to Shaklee, which helped to rebuild her health. So much so that she did not need a hysterectomy and had a surprise pregnancy – ME! One of the vitamins that she swore by was Vita E which can help with healing and repair of the body. So here it is….from the first batch of Vita E – 1975! (I was born in 1976) Pretty cool, huh?

Shaklee is a global company – these are flags representing the 8 countries we are currently in…with more to come!

Did you know that NASA uses Shaklee? Our Performance hydration drink was originally made for the astronauts to hydrate with as they returned from space, to avoid IV fluids. Astronauts also take Shaklee supplements as you can see here.

Shaklee has won several awards for their work to preserve the environment. In fact, we were the very first company to become certified climate neutral, leaving a zero impact on the environment! Shaklee has been an environmental leader since the beginning. Dr. Shaklee created the first biodegradable cleaner in 1959 – our beloved Basic H 🙂

A life-size picture of the Vitalizer box! I take this daily strip of vitamins every morning and feel so much more energy and better health since I started this a few years ago! Shaklee’s patented SMART delivery system guarantees each vitamin to break down in the body where it gives the optimal benefit. Many vitamins on the market don’t break down at all leaving you no benefit! This includes some prescription vitamins! Shaklee’s are a really great and smart choice. Guaranteed 🙂

I know it’s hard to read, but this rock which is in the lobby of the home office reads “Living In Harmony With Nature” which  is something Dr. Shaklee always strived to do and Shaklee Corp. does as well. This rock was the first piece added to the new home office when it was built. It’s signifies what Shaklee is about.

A definite highlight of this trip was taking the great tour of Shaklee Home Office. This building is really something special as it has won several awards for being environmentally friendly and sound. Here is our awesome tour guide Marcie Johnson, from home office telling us all of the great detail about the recycled carpets, “watt stoppers” with shut off desk lighting and computer equipment after 5 minutes of inactivity, recycled plastic for the sound absorbing panels in the leadership center (where we spent a lot of time), ergonomic chairs for all employees made from recycled materials, the awards Shaklee has gotten for the amount of natural light used in the building, how the entire building is cleaned with Get Clean products (even the soap dispensers in the bathrooms!) and much more. Shaklee truly walks the talk!

So my original idea was to cram the entire first day into this post…..but it would be so much longer. So I will wait for another day (soon) to share about the great speakers we heard that day, including Roger Barnett. And also the awesome Vineyard dinner and reception we were spoiled with that night. So come back soon to see the rest of this great day!

Thanks for stopping by! If you’d like to learn how you can join our great team and earn this trip to California, please contact me soon!
